3 Days Mount Meru Climb is one of the best for acclimatization prior to Mount Kilimanjaro climbing. Mount Meru is located in the heart of Arusha National Park and it is 50 miles west of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Mount Meru is a massive volcano reaching 14,980 feet (4,565 meters). This trek serves as an ideal warm-up for Mt. Kilimanjaro due to its altitude acclimatization and hiking distances. Climbing Mount Meru Tanzania is also geared toward hikers that prefer fewer crowds and a challenging ascent.

Is it safe to climb mount Meru Tanzania?
Yes, Climbing Mount Meru Tanzania is very safe, technically speaking. Though steep compared to Mount Kilimanjaro, it is relatively safe. However, this is not to say that it is easy to reach the summit or that there are no risks involved, it is believed to be harder than Kilimanjaro due to its steepness.
Are the guides trained in first aid and altitude sickness?
Our guides are trained in acute mountain sickness (AMS) and basic mountain first aid. However, they are not doctors or paramedics, climbers are however responsible for bringing their own first aid kits and medical supplies.
Is my health monitored throughout the treks?
We carry full medical supplies that could possibly be required from, oxygen tanks to resuscitation equipment. Everyone is assessed daily, both morning and evening for; respiratory rate, heart rate, blood pressure, and O2 saturation levels. We also provide full medical support with qualified doctors if needed at additional costs per group.
Should I do a scheduled group trek or a private trek?
Group hikes are one which anyone can join, however, they tend to be cheaper compared to private tours and they have a set schedule.
We run our own scheduled group trek departure dates throughout ‘all’ seasons, and also “tailor-made” private treks where you can choose your specific dates.
An amazing adventure we had Hiking Mount Meru, our group was very charming, a hard trek but you almost couldn’t feel it because of the people we walked with!
